Join us for a weekend of fun, love, and sun in the mountains.

About the couple

A wedding 20 years in the making

The beginning

Our meandering journey began in Mrs. Lauer’s kindergarten class where we first met. Rachel would eventually switch elementary schools and we lost touch until high school. During junior year of high school, we reconnected through the help of mutual friends and Mama Roni’s pizzeria in Fort Collins.

High school to college

Our shared creativity was an early bond as we took AP Art together to pursue our dreams of photography and design. Rachel began college as a photography major at Principia College while Mac began as a graphic design major at SCAD. We made the long-distance thing work for about 3 months.

Rachel’s talents quickly outgrew Principia, so she transferred to SCAD and we were reunited. Over the next 4 years, we collaborated on projects and spent the summers visiting each other at our respective internships on the east coast.

To Ohio and beyond

We both received job offers at Abercrombie out of college and moved our lives to Columbus, OH. Our relationship has spanned 8+ years, 6 states with endless years and adventures still to come.

Why Steamboat?

Though we both grew up in Fort Collins, we’ve always had a soft spot for Steamboat. For our junior year prom, we skipped the dance and opted for a day trip to the mountains.

Over the years, we spent several weekends in the Summers and Winters enjoying the best mountain town in Colorado.

During the Summer of 2020, Mac was the odd child out as renovations began on the family home in Fort Collins. Mac spent several weeks of COVID fun-employment in Steamboat, including one week with Rachel. We hiked, soaked in the sunrises and sunsets, dipped our toes in the river, and got our first taste of living together.

It’s a magical place, and we hope you love it as much as we do.
